New Beginnings
The New Beginnings that was scheduled for this fall has been postponed. Check this website for updates on this program. Jr. High DOY is still on, however. Applications for that event can be downloaded from the Youth Events and Registration page.
New Beginnings is a fun-filled Spirit-led weekend addressing the unique needs, conce
rns, pressures and issues facing young teenagers in junior high school. It focuses especially on the most important relationships in adolescent lives and how to grow in love for Jesus Christ, our families, our friends, and ourselves. A team of high school students and adults leads the weekend, providing opportunities for participants to sing, play, share, laugh, eat and pray together.
New Beginnings was developed in the Diocese of Central Florida, and quickly spread throughout the Episcopal Church, including our own diocese where weekends were held for several years in host parishes around the diocese and at Camp Bratton-Green. Following a brief hiatus, New Beginnings is beginning anew in Mississippi in 2007. Look for more information to come.
