At this annual conference, paid and volunteer youth leaders gather for a weekend of gathering and sharing ideas, resources, and insights into the needs and perspectives of our youth. A variety of workshops are offered on such topics as games, bible studies, outreach activities, and confirmation, plus many more! We learn by doing (by playing and singing and talking and praying), so you must be prepared to have a great time! There are also opportunities for rest and relaxation (what's that?!) and networking with other brave adults working with youth in the Diocese of Mississippi. This year we are offering a session of Safe Churches Training on Sunday afternoon, from 1:00-5:00 pm. This is an optional session for adults who have not previously attended such a session (all adults working with youth are required to attend this training once). The session is open to participants who have not been present for the entire weekend; however, if you are not registering for AWWY and would like to attend the Safe Churches session, please call the Reverend Jennifer Deaton in the diocesan office at 601-948-5954 or email her at jendeaton@dioms.org |
